WHY FREEDOM

It seems that every business owner I speak with never seems to have enough time. Working too many hours, don’t seem to have enough help or not enough capital. Most are happy with their profession and love seeing patients but insurances, degrading reimbursements, rising staff salaries and competition are making their lives challenging.

Creating freedom in and around your business looks like seeing the patients that you love to see, spending time on the things in your business that you enjoy and getting home at a reasonable hour to enjoy your own free time.

This sounds nice but it requires goal setting in a different fashion. One of the first things is that you must be able to find those in your business that can help you lead. Then help them understand new roles and responsibilities while letting them make some decisions. You will find that the right people will grow and prosper when given opportunity and led by an authentic leader.

Another area to look into are the “warts” in your business. Most of the time we are just getting to the end of the day/week/month to make payroll and have a few dollars left at the end. But taking time to really review your business and assessing it against industry benchmarks/standards in your market is a way to see where you are at and then you can assess how to proceed. That is where working “on” your business instead of “in” your business comes into play.

Creating a productive business with partners/leaders helping guide your practice are some of the ways to create freedom in your practice life.
